Barbara Bush donates to super PAC supporting Texas Democrat James Talarico

Barbara Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, has donated $2,500 to the Lone Star Rising PAC, a super PAC supporting Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico in Texas.

Federal Election Commission filings show the contribution was made on September 23, 2026. The Lone Star Rising PAC is actively campaigning for Talarico, an Austin state representative, while opposing Republican candidate and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the upcoming November midterm election.

Legal experts noted that the donation was made through a publicly disclosing vehicle rather than an anonymous 501(c)(4) organization. Bush, who has previously campaigned for Kamala Harris and described herself as unaffiliated with either major political party, has also publicly voiced support for abortion rights.
