Barbara Louise MacDonald, British Columbia nurse, passes away

Barbara Louise MacDonald, a registered nurse from British Columbia, passed away on September 17, 2026. Born in Duncan, she grew up in Lake Cowichan and dedicated her career to healthcare, working at Cowichan District Hospital, Chemainus Hospital, and Mackenzie District Hospital.

In her later years, she resided at Mount St. Mary Hospital, where she engaged in painting and choir. A celebration of life is scheduled for November 7, 2026, at the Lake Cowichan Fire Hall. In her memory, the family suggests donations be made to the BC SPCA.
