Barbastro City Council receives FATEA Honor Prize for theater support

The Barbastro City Council has been awarded an Honor Prize by the Aragonese Federation of Amateur Theater (FATEA) for its support of theater in cultural and educational sectors. Mayor Fernando Torres accepted the award during the closing ceremony of the VI FATEA Congress held in the city.

The recognition highlights Barbastro’s commitment to the performing arts, including its stable programming of approximately thirty performances annually. This schedule integrates professional productions, family shows, and local company performances. The city has been a member of the Aragonese Network of Scenic Spaces (RAEE) since 2008 and the national PLATEA program since 2014, which facilitates diverse offerings in theater, dance, and circus.
