Barber Motorsports Park hosts GT World Challenge and GT America sessions
GT World Challenge America and GT America competition commenced at Barber Motorsports Park with various practice and race sessions. Tom Sargent, driving the Buc-ee’s-liveried GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, topped the initial GT World Challenge America practice session with a lap of 1:21.267. In the GT America sessions, Todd Parriott led a Kellymoss 1-2 sweep, recording a best lap of 1:21.960.
Memo Gidley, the SRO3 points leader, secured the championship title despite a driveshaft issue that prevented him from starting the race. Gidley’s title was clinched following the performance of Tony Davis in the HP-TECH Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3.
Other notable session results included Jason Daskalos topping the Bronze test and Joel Cortes claiming a victory in GT America. The weekend saw some incidents, including a red flag in the morning test session caused by the No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3 Evo hitting the tire barriers.
