Barbora Kroužková Departs Česká televize After Two Decades as News Anchor

Veteran Czech television journalist Barbora Kroužková left Česká televize in March 2026 after more than 20 years at the public broadcaster. She had anchored flagship programmes such as Události and later Interview ČT24 and Devadesátka. Management cited a re‑organisation aimed at “clarifying” programme faces for viewers, moving Kroužková from the main news slot to the two new shows. The shift was reportedly difficult to accommodate and followed similar reassignments of colleagues Daniel Takáč and Jana Peroutková. In February, two months after the announcement, Kroužkovă resigned, stating that the change was not her decision and that she faced a wave of online harassment. Her departure coincided with the exits of other long‑standing ČT personalities, including Václav Moravec.
