Barbosa Ferraz: Bull escape kills woman during rodeo preparations

A woman died on Friday night after being struck by a bull that escaped during preparations for a rodeo in Barbosa Ferraz, northern Paraná. The animal was intended for use in the city's 66th anniversary celebrations.

The bull escaped its enclosure and ran through several streets, passing near the municipal hospital and sports gymnasium, causing panic among residents. The victim, a resident of Maringá who was visiting family, was struck near the gate of a residence in the Vila Mineira region. Emergency medical services (Samu) arrived at the scene, but the woman died from her injuries.

Following the attack, security teams and local residents pursued the animal through the streets. The bull was eventually located in the Vila do Roque area and was killed during the attempt to contain it. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that allowed the animal to escape and the responsibilities regarding the incident.
