Barbra Banda joins Zambia squad for Olympic qualifiers

Zambia's senior women's national football team, the Copper Queens, has bolstered its squad for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifiers. Captain Barbra Banda has arrived in Kampala alongside four other foreign-based players: Margaret Belemu, Martha Tembo, Lushomo Mweemba, and Ireen Lungu.

These players join 17 locally based teammates in preparation for the first-leg qualifier against Uganda on October 8, 2026. The team is expected to be further strengthened by the arrival of Racheal Kundananji, Prisca Chilufya, and Mercy Chipasula. Following the match in Kampala, the squad will travel to Ndola for the second leg of the qualifying tie.
