Barcarena, Pará and Barra do Garças, Mato Grosso launch free summer music festivals
Barcarena, a riverside town in Pará, will host the 2026 edition of its traditional summer festival on the Caripi beach, featuring Brazilian singers Claudia Leitte and Alexandre Pires along with other national acts. The free‑entry program includes concerts, cultural activities and a promotion of local cuisine and historic sites, aiming to draw thousands of visitors and stimulate the municipal economy during July.
In Mato Grosso, the city of Barra do Garças has opened a similar free‑admission cultural season at the Porto do Baé and the Bosque beach. Starting July 23, the schedule includes performances by regional artist Thayla Costa, the band Novo Som, pagode group Som de Faculdade, sertanejo singer Felipe Farra, and a finale of funk by Bonde do Tigrão. A concurrent artisans’ fair showcases local crafts. Both municipalities hope the events will boost tourism, fill hotels and restaurants, and highlight regional cultural heritage.
