Barceló Hotel Group launches sustainable beach toy lending service
Barceló Hotel Group and the Spanish children's brand Tutete have launched a sustainable beach toy lending service to reduce seasonal waste. The initiative aims to address the issue where approximately 80% of beach toys end up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean, according to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
Part of the ‘Barceló Regen’ sustainability strategy, the program debuts this summer at the Barceló Punta Umbría Beach Resort. Families staying at the hotel can request a free beach toy kit to use during their stay and return it afterward for reuse by other guests. The project seeks to promote responsible consumption and minimize the environmental impact of seasonal tourism.
