Barceló Hotel Group opens Occidental Cairo Grand Museum in Egypt

Barceló Hotel Group has opened the Occidental Cairo Grand Museum, its second property in Cairo, Egypt. The four-star urban hotel features 207 rooms and is located opposite the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza Pyramids.

According to José Canals, Chief Operations Officer for the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia, the opening is part of a strategic effort to strengthen the company’s presence in the Middle East and North Africa, a region identified as having high tourism growth potential. The hotel offers amenities including a spa, fitness center, an international restaurant, and a rooftop terrace with views of the Giza monument complex.

As part of the Barceló ReGen sustainability program, the company aims to foster local economic growth. The group reports that its activities in Egypt support 1,876 direct and indirect jobs, with 70% of its approved local supplier network consisting of nearby businesses.
