Barcelona advances commercial and urban redevelopment projects
Barcelona is launching several initiatives to revitalize its commercial and urban landscape. The new Saló del Comerç, organized by Fira de Barcelona, aims to serve as a practical platform for merchants to improve competitiveness, access training, and facilitate generational renewal. The event will feature specialized areas for digital tools, marketing, and financing, alongside sessions on consumer trends.
Simultaneously, a major transformation is planned for the Fira de Montjuïc venue. The project seeks to integrate the site more deeply into the city's urban fabric by making it more walkable and accessible to citizens. Beyond hosting exhibitions, the redevelopment will include the construction of public housing, neighborhood facilities such as a sports center and a health clinic, and the creation of new architectural landmarks like the Fira Innovation Hub and a multifunctional pavilion designed by Smiljan Radic.
