Rototom Sunsplash concludes 31st edition with 169,000 attendees

The 31st edition of the Rototom Sunsplash festival in Benicàssim has concluded, drawing 169,000 attendees from approximately one hundred countries. Festival director Filippo Giunta noted that despite economic uncertainty in the European live music sector, the event demonstrated strong audience loyalty, maintaining an average of over 26,000 daily attendees.

Beyond music, the festival emphasized social and environmental activism. The Rototom Social Forum, organized by the Exodus Foundation, hosted over 1,100 participants for debates on topics such as the climate emergency—featuring activist Vandana Shiva—and the housing crisis. The programming also addressed combating racist language in collaboration with various collectives.

In other regional news, Salou has announced the rescheduling of its Nits Daurades closing ceremonies, including a traditional procession and fireworks display, for September 6 following weather-related cancellations.
