Barcelona expands extracurricular program and financial aid
The Barcelona City Council has expanded its ‘Tardes Educatives’ program for the 2026-2027 academic year, adding 200 new proposals. The total number of available extracurricular activities in Barcelona has reached 2,035, covering cultural, artistic, scientific, and technological subjects for children and adolescents aged 6 to 17. For adolescents with a recognized disability of 33% or higher, the age limit is extended to 19.
To support participation, the City Council has allocated 750,000 euros to cover economic aid for families, an increase of 150,000 euros compared to the previous course. Eligible families must apply for this aid by October 8, provided they have already secured an economic aid level through the initial process conducted between September and February.
