Barcelona hosts fifth edition of the Biennal de Pensament

The fifth edition of the Biennal de Pensament has commenced in Barcelona, running from October 13 to 18. Under the theme ‘Desencadenar el present’ (Triggering the present), the event is organized by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) and aims to transform various city streets, squares, and cultural facilities into spaces for collective reflection and debate regarding contemporary challenges.

The inaugural session featured a conversation between Italian writer Alessandro Baricco and composer Joan Magrané, discussing the human impulse for artistic creation and the links between literature and music. Other participants in the opening activities included stage creator Angélica Liddell, writer Luna Miguel, and singer Maria Jaume. The event features over one hundred voices, including international figures such as anti-racist activist Lilian Thuram and philosopher Wendy Brown.
