Barcelona hosts La Mercè festival and classic bus exhibition

Barcelona is hosting several major cultural and mobility events in September 2026. As part of European Mobility Week, Passeig de Gràcia is hosting a Classic Bus Exhibition. Co-organized by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), Sagalés, and the Association for the Recovery and Conservation of Buses (ARCA), the exhibition features over 30 vehicles, including historical models dating back to 1909 and modern electric buses.

Additionally, the city will celebrate La Mercè from September 23 to 27. The festival includes approximately 500 activities across ten districts, featuring free concerts, traditional castells, and correfocs. Notable highlights include a musical firework display at Bogatell beach on September 27 and open house events at various cultural sites. The Sagrada Família will offer 20,000 free tickets for visits to the basilica, museum, and facades via a lottery system during the festival period.
