Spain transit networks resume services following summer infrastructure works

Various public transportation networks in Spain are undergoing significant service restorations and infrastructure improvements.

In Madrid, Metro de Madrid is resuming full service on Line 7 between Gregorio Marañón and Pitis, alongside an accelerated reopening of Line 6 between Argüelles and Ciudad Universitaria, scheduled for September 1. These updates follow summer maintenance works and will see the discontinuation of special EMT bus services.

In Barcelona, TMB has completed a six-week renovation of Line 1 between Florida and Plaça de Sants. The €11.5 million project involved renewing 2.1 kilometers of track to reduce vibrations and improve reliability.

In Valencia, Metrovalencia is reopening the Aragó, Amistat, Ayora, and Marítim stations on August 31 following a €24 million renovation of the Alameda-Marítim tunnel section.

Additionally, Alicante is reinforcing its urban bus Line 7P to meet rising demand from industrial areas, doubling capacity for the early morning service starting September 1. Meanwhile, the Alcalá de Guadaíra tramway project has reached 75% completion, with the goal of beginning testing later this year following a total investment exceeding €300 million.
