Barcelona municipal contracts concentrated among ten companies

Ten companies accounted for approximately 40% of the total municipal contracting expenditure in Barcelona and its dependent public sector last year. The Barcelona City Council and its associated entities executed 35,717 contracts, totaling 1.855 billion euros, representing a 3.6% increase compared to 2024.

FCC Medio Ambiente maintained its position as the top municipal contractor. The nature of these contracts varies widely, ranging from minor assignments to large-scale services such as waste collection and public space cleaning, which accounted for 18% of the total direct volume. Other major providers include Corporación CLD, Urbaser, and Suara Serveis.
