Barcelona opposition urges aid for Ceuta emergency

Daniel Sirera, president of the People's Party in the Barcelona City Council, has called on Mayor Jaume Collboni to offer assistance to the autonomous city of Ceuta in response to its current emergency situation.

Sirera emphasized that Barcelona should provide humanitarian assistance and technical or logistical support through inter-administrative cooperation. While noting that border control and migration policy fall under the jurisdiction of the Spanish national government, he argued that the city should demonstrate solidarity by offering municipal resources to meet the needs requested by Ceuta's authorities.
