Barcelona outlines development plan for Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim
FC Barcelona has drawn up a long‑term development programme for 18‑year‑old Egyptian forward Hamza Abdel Karim. The club will integrate him gradually into the first‑team environment, giving him regular training sessions under head coach Hans Flick and the chance to feature as a substitute when needed. At the same time, he will continue to play with the reserve side to maintain match fitness, and the club is keeping a loan to a Spanish second‑division side on the table if it deems it beneficial for his progress.
Hamza travelled with the senior squad to England for the pre‑season camp, where Barcelona will face Brentford in a friendly. The camp offers him a platform to impress the coaching staff and demonstrate his readiness for a senior role, especially as Barcelona search for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski at striker. The plan balances technical, tactical and physical development while keeping the player close to first‑team actions.
