Barcelona police arrest fugitive wanted for murder in Iceland
The Spanish National Police have arrested a fugitive in central Barcelona who is wanted by Icelandic authorities for murder. The individual, described as a Polish national, was located while staying at a city center hotel.
The arrest followed an international warrant issued by Iceland for a premeditated murder involving a second accomplice. According to the investigation, the suspect and an associate attacked the victim while wearing masks and dark clothing. The victim suffered severe injuries, including deep stab wounds, chemical burns from a corrosive substance, and blunt force trauma to the head. The victim later died in a hospital.
Icelandic authorities believe the victim was subjected to torture during the attack. The suspect faces a potential sentence of life imprisonment.
