Barcelona PP leader Daniel Sirera calls for tougher drug controls and pushes for 2030 World Cup final

PP municipal group leader Daniel Sirera accused Barcelona mayor Jaume Collboni of turning the city into a "showcase of drugs," saying drug‑related crimes rose 27% last year. He criticised the new municipal drug plan as a "make‑up operation" and urged the national government to tighten port inspections and to revoke licences for cannabis clubs, calling for a zero‑tolerance policy across the entire drug‑trafficking chain.

Sirera also pressed Catalan president Salvador Illa and Mayor Collboni to lobby the Spanish government to secure the 2030 FIFA World Cup final for Camp Nou. He highlighted the stadium’s planned 105,000‑seat capacity, its historic significance, and argued that Barcelona should not settle for being a "regular venue" but host the tournament’s decisive match.
