Barcelona close deal for Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi
Barcelona have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign German forward Karim Adeyemi. The deal is reported to involve a €22 million fixed fee plus €7 million in performance‑related bonuses, with a contract running to the summer of 2031 and a 20 % future‑sale clause for Dortmund.
Adeyemi is expected to travel to Spain on Wednesday, undergo a mandatory medical examination on Thursday and, if cleared, sign officially later that day. President Joan Laporta confirmed the arrangement while in Dallas for the World Cup semi‑final, noting the club’s excitement about the player’s speed and danger. Coach Hansi Flick, who knows Adeyemi from the German national team, has been closely involved in the process and plans to integrate him into training on Friday. The signing follows Barcelona’s recent acquisition of English striker Anthony Gordon and precedes the club’s continued pursuit of other targets.
