Barcelona restaurant sector sees new openings and corporate expansion

The Barcelona restaurant sector is seeing new developments in both specialized dining and corporate expansion. Pizzabar has opened a new location on Enric Granados, featuring an industrial design by Oficina Satélite. The establishment focuses on thin, crispy crust pizzas using Catalan ingredients, complemented by a tapas menu and a large terrace.

Meanwhile, Can Pizza is undergoing a professionalization process following its acquisition by Abordador Capital. The company aims to expand from 13 to 25 restaurants by 2028, targeting an annual opening rate of three to four new locations. As part of its growth strategy, Can Pizza is piloting a dual-concept model in its Ronda Universitat location, which operates separate gluten-containing and gluten-free circuits with independent ovens to prevent cross-contamination.
