Barcelona SC members could become minority shareholders under SAD proposal

Barcelona Sporting Club is considering a transition to a Sociedad Anónima Deportiva (SAD), a move that would fundamentally alter the club's governance and the role of its members. Galo Roggiero Avilés, the club's vice president, explained that this process would require a reform of the institution's statutes.

Under the proposed corporate model, current members would lose their traditional voting power and instead become minority shareholders. In this new structure, decision-making power would be determined by financial contribution, and a majority investor would take full control of the club's assets. Roggiero emphasized that despite the corporate shift, the club's primary objective remains sporting success.
