Barcelona SC secures LigaPro hexagonal spot after draw with Delfín

Barcelona SC secured a place in the LigaPro championship hexagonal following a 1-1 draw against Delfín in Guayaquil. Danny Luna opened the scoring for Delfín in the 12th minute after an error by Gustavo Vallecilla, but Tomás Rodríguez equalized for Barcelona SC in the 59th minute following a pass from Damián Díaz.

Despite Delfín finishing the match with ten players after Enzo Rubio was sent off in the 82nd minute, the score remained unchanged. The result leaves Barcelona SC with 44 points, ensuring their qualification for the final stage ahead of Libertad.

Regarding upcoming fixtures, club president Miguel Montalvo confirmed that Barcelona SC will remain in Guayaquil rather than traveling early to Quito. Technical and medical assessments determined that the short timeframe between matches makes the necessary three-week altitude adaptation unfeasible, leading the club to prioritize recovery in their home city.
