Barcelona sign Egyptian forward Hamza Abdel Kareem from Al Ahly

Barcelona have activated the €1.5 million purchase option for Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Kareem, making him a permanent player from next season. The 21‑year‑old spent last season on loan at the Catalan club, impressing with the youth side before joining Egypt’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The Spanish club and Al Ahly are exchanging the required paperwork, with final approval expected before the end of June. Egypt’s former club, the Red Club, has lodged a claim for a share of the fee, but Barcelona officials say it does not impede the transfer.
