Barcelona to host HOWS Housing World Summit in November
Fira de Barcelona has announced the launch of HOWS Barcelona, also known as the Housing World Summit. This new international congress focuses on urban and affordable housing and is scheduled to take place from November 3 to 5 at the Gran Via venue as part of the Smart City Expo World Congress.
Promoted by the Barcelona City Council, the summit will feature a three-day program consisting of 20 sessions and more than 100 speakers. The event aims to bring together diverse stakeholders, including city officials, housing providers, real estate developers, investors, and academic professionals, to address global housing challenges.
The congress will focus on five core themes: urban planning and land policy, housing regulation, building innovation, renovation and reuse, and financing mechanisms for housing development. Additionally, the summit will host high-level activities to foster international cooperation, including a closed-door Housing Mayors Meeting for senior housing officials and mayors from around the world.
