Barcelona to host major drawing festivals in 2026

Barcelona will host several major artistic events in 2026, centered around drawing and the centenary of architect Antoni Gaudí.

The Barcelona Dibuixa festival is scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2026. This city-wide program aims to transform the city into a stage for drawing, focusing on the creative process rather than just the final product. The festival will feature 48 artists and 48 institutions across 46 activities, including locations such as the Castell de Montjuïc, which will serve as a backdrop with its fortifications and viewpoints.

Additionally, the Sagrada Família will host a drawing competition titled ‘Den Himmel malen’ (Painting the Sky) on November 7, 2026. The event, running from 9:00 to 14:00, is part of the commemorative programming for the 100th anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s death. Registration for the competition is currently open.
