Barcelona urged to make Rashford permanent as Koeman warns of costly regret

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is nearing the end of his season‑long loan at Barcelona. The Spanish club holds an option to sign him permanently for €30 million (£26 million) before 15 June. Rashford has contributed 14 goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances, including a free‑kick in the El Clásico victory over Real Madrid.

Former Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has publicly urged the club to trigger the clause, calling the fee a bargain and saying “If Barcelona allows him to return to Manchester United after this loan, I believe they will deeply regret it.” He added, “£26 million is a steal” and criticised internal hesitation amid the club’s financial constraints. Koeman warned that losing Rashford would be a missed opportunity for a player with “speed, aggression, confidence” who consistently threatens opposition defenses.
