Barcelona's Cake-me scales to 20 stores, plans national expansion

Cake-me, a gourmet cheesecake brand founded in Barcelona in 2025 by Brazilian couple Ana and Daniel Pinheiro, celebrated its first anniversary with almost twenty retail points across three Spanish cities. The concept stemmed from a trip to Japan where the founders encountered portable, artisanal cheesecake, which they began testing in their home kitchen before opening the first shop.

The company attributes its rapid growth to a centrally‑run kitchen, proprietary logistics and a royalty‑free franchise model, allowing consistent product quality and fast scaling. Prices range from €0.99 for classic slices to €2.99 for special flavours, with an average spending of €3.50 per customer. Looking ahead, Cake-me intends to open additional locations throughout Spain, reactivate its franchise network—already attracting over 1,000 interested parties—and explore wholesale channels for cafés and restaurants. The founders also hinted at a future entry into other European markets once the national rollout is solidified.
