Barcelona's FGC shuts Gràcia‑Sarrià rail segment for August upgrades

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will suspend train service on the Barcelona‑Vallès line between Gràcia and Sarrià stations from 11 to 23 August. The shutdown allows installation of a new concrete slab and renewal of the track infrastructure between Gràcia, Muntaner and La Bonanova.

During the 13‑day interruption FGC will operate an alternate bus service along Via Augusta, stopping at Gràcia, Sant Gervasi, Muntaner, La Bonanova, Les Tres Torres and Sarrià. Trains on lines S1 and S2 will continue to run beyond Sarrià, while services between Gràcia and Plaça Catalunya will run at a reduced frequency. The works are part of a larger project to modernise the line from Plaça Catalunya to Sarrià, aiming to improve stability and reduce maintenance costs, and are scheduled in August to minimise impact on summer commuters.
