Barceloneta Beach ranks among the world's top 15 beaches

Barceloneta Beach has been ranked 15th in the world by the Golden Beach Awards, an international ranking established by BeachAtlas. The ranking places the Barcelona beach ahead of Sydney’s Bondi Beach, which holds the 16th position.

Unlike many lists that focus solely on water color or sand quality, BeachAtlas utilizes algorithms and expert votes to evaluate cultural importance, local integration, history, and leisure offerings. The beach is noted for its vibrant atmosphere and its connection to the surrounding neighborhood, which is historically linked to fishing and known for its seafood and tapas restaurants.

In the French Catalonia region, Banyuls-sur-Mer is highlighted as a quieter alternative to the highly crowded Collioure. Banyuls-sur-Mer features terraced vineyards producing Banyuls wine, the Arago Laboratory, and France’s first marine reserve, established in 1974. The village is characterized by its ochre facades and access to wild coves along the coastal path.
