Barcelos and Évora open public consultations on new municipal urban plans
The Câmara Municipal of Barcelos announced a 30‑day public discussion period for the second revision of its Municipal Master Plan (PDM). The consultation begins on the fifth day after the plan’s notice appears in the Diário da República. Residents and interested parties may review documents in person at the municipal multi‑purpose hall or online via the municipality’s website, and can submit comments through an electronic platform, registered mail, or in person at the municipal office.
In Évora, the municipal council presented the proposal for the fourth revision of its Urbanization Plan (PUE). The draft foresees the construction of more than 7,000 housing units, providing capacity for approximately 15,000 new residents, and includes expansions for economic zones, a health cluster near the future central hospital, and improvements to transport and public spaces. An informal public discussion phase has been opened, followed by a formal consultation as required by law, before the plan is submitted for final municipal approval in September.
