Barcelos expands public service network with new Espaço Cidadão

The Municipality of Barcelos has inaugurated a new Espaço Cidadão in the parish of Vila Cova e Feitos through a partnership with the Agência para a Modernização Administrativa (AMA). This new service point allows residents to handle various public administration matters locally, reducing the need for travel to larger centers.

With this addition, the Barcelos municipality now operates a network of 24 Espaços Cidadão. Mayor Mário Constantino Lopes emphasized that the decentralization of services is vital for territorial cohesion and simplifying administrative procedures. The municipality has also submitted a proposal to the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) to expand this network to additional parishes.
