Barclays has announced a leadership restructuring for its investment banking division. Mike Joo and Adeel Khan will be appointed as Co-CEOs of the Investment Bank, effective February 2027, pending regulatory approval.

Mike Joo will join the firm from Bank of America, where he has served since 2006 and most recently held the position of Co-Head of Global Investment Banking. Adeel Khan, who currently leads Global Markets, has served as Co-Head of the Investment Bank since 2021. Both executives will join the Group Executive Committee.

Barclays Group CEO C. S. Venkatakrishnan stated that the move reflects the bank’s ambition for its investment division as it enters the next stage of its strategy, aiming to provide a more integrated service to clients following strong performance in revenue and returns since 2023.
