Barclays faces investigations over MFS exposure

Barclays PLC is facing investigations by multiple shareholder-rights law firms regarding its exposure to the collapsed UK mortgage lender Market Financial Solutions Ltd. (MFS).

The investigations are examining whether the bank made materially misleading statements or failed to disclose critical information concerning its business and its connection to MFS. Reports indicated that Barclays had approximately £600 million, or roughly $810 million, of exposure to the lender. The Rosen Law Firm has announced it is preparing a class action to recover investor losses following a decline in Barclays' American Depositary Shares.
