Barco Brasil wins HPE25 Bahia Ranking stage at Aratu Iate Clube
The Barco Brasil sailing team secured victory in the HPE25 Bahia Ranking stage, held on October 3 and 4 at the Aratu Iate Clube in Simões Filho, Bahia. Led by José Guilherme Caldas, the team finished with 6 points, tying with Moacyr Franco's Lasquinê, but secured first place via a tie-break criterion.
The crew consisted of Rafael Martins, Juliana Duque, Léo Taboada, and Mateus Tavares. Martins and Duque entered the competition following their gold medal win in the Snipe Mixed class at the South American Games in September.
Despite facing challenges with their sails on the second day of competition, the team maintained their lead. This victory serves as preparation for the upcoming Brazilian HPE25 Championship, scheduled to take place at the same venue from November 25 to 29.
