Barcolana regatta announces course and dates for 58th edition

Organizers have announced the details for the upcoming Barcolana sailing regatta. The 58th edition of the event is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, featuring a 13-nautical-mile course in the Gulf of Trieste. The race is set to start between Barkovlje and Miramar, with the finish line located at Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste. The official poster for this year's event was designed by artist Serse Roma, using the sea as a central motif.

In conjunction with the main event, the Go to Barcolana regatta will take place on Saturday, October 10, connecting Slovenia and Italy. This race will run from Portorož to Trieste, with organizers expecting between 40 and 50 sailboats to participate. Participation in this event has shown steady growth, increasing from 36 boats three years ago to 41 last year. This year's festivities are also expected to include a Croatian stage starting in Pula.

Separately, at the Portorož Open Slovenian Championship, the Uskok Sailing Club saw success with several crews. In the 470 class, the crew of Noela Petešić and Adrian Peović secured third place. In the U17 420 class, Maroje Morožin and Vito Lav Baranović earned a bronze medal.
