Barda and Ganja rocket attacks mark six years since 2020 conflict

Six years have passed since the Armenian armed forces targeted the Azerbaijani city of Barda with rocket fire on October 5, 2020, during the 44-day Patriotic War. On that specific day, rocket strikes near Barda's central streets and a central hospital resulted in two deaths and six injuries, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

Throughout the conflict, the Barda district was subjected to five separate attacks. These strikes, which included rockets and prohibited cluster bombs, resulted in a total of 29 deaths—including two children and eight women—and 112 injuries.

Other Azerbaijani cities were also targeted during this period. Ganja faced five terror attacks, including strikes on October 5 that hit an international hospital, a school, and a central market, leading to 26 deaths and 175 injuries over the course of the conflict. Beylagan also experienced rocket strikes, one of which landed in a kindergarten yard.
