Bardovci Psychiatric Hospital faces nepotism allegations over five tenders

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) has raised allegations of nepotism and corruption involving the Bardovci Psychiatric Hospital. The political party claims that Indigo Inc DOOEL Skopje, a company owned by Besim Avdulai, has secured five tenders from the hospital since Isa Avdulai assumed his role as acting director.

According to DUI spokesperson Arta Bilali Zendeli, the first contract was signed on October 15, 2024, just three months after Isa Avdulai's appointment. This initial tender was valued at up to 600,000 denars. Subsequent contracts include an IT systems and licensing tender valued at approximately 2.59 million denars (roughly 42,000 euros).

While the director has acknowledged the family connection between himself and the company owner, DUI is demanding a full investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Public Procurement Bureau. The party is calling for transparency regarding the selection criteria, bidders, and the overall legality of the procurement processes, stating that public funds must not be treated as family property.
