Bardovci Psychiatric Hospital faces tender scandal over family ties

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) has raised allegations of corruption regarding a public tender at the Bardovci Psychiatric Hospital. The contract, valued at approximately 42,000 euros (2.59 million denars) annually, was awarded to Indigo Inc DOOEL Skopje.

Reports indicate that the owner of Indigo Inc, Besim Avdulai, is a cousin of the hospital's director, Isa Avdulai. The director has acknowledged the family connection, describing the individual as a second or third cousin, but maintains the tender process was legal because he was not part of the selection commission.

The tender covers essential IT services, including the maintenance of security systems, monitoring of 300 computers or servers, firewall upgrades, and email licensing. DUI is calling for urgent investigations by the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption and the Public Procurement Bureau to examine potential conflicts of interest and ensure transparency in the selection process.
