Bares für Rares: 101-year-old woman sells heirloom brooch
On a recent episode of the ZDF show ‘Bares für Rares’, host Horst Lichter expressed surprise at the age of a guest named Gertraud from Speyer. Gertraud, who is nearly 101 years old, appeared on the program with her grandson, Alex.
Gertraud brought an heirloom brooch to the show, which she had inherited through several generations from her mother. The jewelry, which originated in Leipzig, features a combination of a pin and a boat-like shape. Expert Patrick Lessmann noted the piece combines two distinct styles.
Gertraud intends to use the proceeds from the sale of the jewelry to help fund her upcoming 102nd birthday celebration.
