Horst Lichter features in German TV pranks and antique show segments

German television personality Horst Lichter has been the subject of several recent media reports involving the show ‘Bares für Rares’ and a high-profile television prank.

In a segment of ‘Bares für Rares’, several participants faced unexpected outcomes. One seller, Doris Wolfer, brought two candleholders she believed were Baccarat crystal, but experts determined they were made of press glass and chrome, valuing them at only 100 euros. Another participant, Regina from Munich, brought a Rock-Ola jukebox that was damaged during transport, causing its functional value to drop significantly.

Separately, Lichter participated in a prank for the show ‘Verstehen Sie Spaß?’. During a guest appearance on Sat.1’s morning show, Lichter pretended he was undergoing a radical personal reinvention, which included having part of his signature mustache cut off on camera. Lichter later stated he was prepared to go even further to maintain the ruse, noting, “I was ready to sacrifice my mustache.”
