Bares für Rares features diamonds, design classics, and historical artifacts

The ZDF treasure hunting show ‘Bares für Rares’ has featured several notable items and unexpected outcomes recently. In one segment, a mother and daughter presented a collection of diamond jewelry, including an Art Deco ring from the late 1930s, which surprised dealers with its abundance.

Another highlight involved two ‘Uchiwa 2’ wall lamps designed by Ingo Maurer in the 1970s. While host Horst Lichter initially estimated their value at only 50 euros, the items were revealed to be valuable design classics inspired by Japanese fans, leading to a bidding war among dealers.

Other featured items included a historical German police stamp box used for recreating accident sketches, a rare 1784 friendship book containing hand-painted silhouettes, and a gold-decorated Swiss pocket watch. However, not all appearances ended in sales; one seller declined to sell his inherited pocket watch after the final bids fell below his expectations.
