Bares für Rares sellers withdraw over jewelry expertise dispute

On the television program ‘Bares für Rares’, cousins Friederike Generotzky and Dorothee Lewens attempted to sell a vintage jewelry ensemble belonging to a late relative. The set, consisting of a brooch and two earring clips dating between 1845 and 1860, was identified by expert Heide Rezepa-Zabel as being made of 585 gold, despite lacking official stamps.

Disagreements regarding the expertise and valuation of the pieces led the sellers to withdraw from the transaction. The segment also noted historical high-value sales on the show, including a 1968 Jaguar E-Type Coupé sold for 60,000 euros and a diamond-encrusted relic cross sold for 42,000 euros.
