Bareskrim Polri dismantles human trafficking syndicate targeting Indonesian women for China

Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) have dismantled a human trafficking syndicate that lured Indonesian women to China under the guise of arranged marriages. Two suspects, identified as CA (25) and FU (59), were arrested in connection with the operation.

Investigators revealed that CA acted as a recruiter and handled fraudulent documentation, earning approximately Rp20 million per victim. FU served as a Mandarin translator and intermediary, receiving Rp5 million per victim. Victims were promised a better life, an initial payment of Rp25 million upon marriage, and a monthly stipend of Rp10 million once in China.

In reality, victims were reportedly exploited as domestic workers for their husbands' families and did not receive the promised funds. One victim, identified as ULS (23), reported experiencing domestic violence and being forced into domestic labor. The victim eventually sought assistance from the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) to facilitate her return home.
