Bari and Puglia focus on transit and healthcare infrastructure

In Bari, the Movimento 5 Stelle has addressed the ongoing implementation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. While acknowledging the immediate disruptions caused by construction sites—including traffic congestion, changes to road layouts, and reduced parking—the group emphasized the long-term goal of reducing automobile dependency by providing a competitive and frequent public transport alternative.

Simultaneously, in the Puglia region, discussions are underway regarding the establishment of the Centro NeMO at the Policlinico di Bari to support patients with degenerative neuromuscular diseases. Project design for the center is expected to be completed by December 2026, with funding secured until late 2029. Regional representatives are calling for a detailed timeline to ensure the facility becomes operational and for a more homogeneous healthcare network across different local health authorities (Asl).
