Bari authorities shut down illegal, unsanitary bed and breakfast

Local police in Bari have shut down an illegal and dilapidated bed and breakfast located in the old town area. The discovery was made following a formal complaint from a guest.

During an inspection, officers found the mini-apartment in extremely poor hygienic conditions, noting unbreathable air and moisture damage on the ceilings. The bathroom featured a toilet integrated directly into the shower tray.

In addition to the sanitary issues, the establishment lacked required administrative documentation, including the mandatory CIN identification and proper business registration (SCIA). The owner, who manages three tourist rentals, has been ordered to suspend the illegal activity while further checks on building usability certifications are conducted.
