Bari football club seeks new coach amid ownership overhaul
Italian Serie C club SSC Bari is intensifying its search for a new head coach. Former candidate Raffaele Biancolino, who recently led Avellino to promotion, is now considered a less likely option. The club is focusing on Domenico Toscano, a Calabrian manager with a record of multiple promotions in the third tier, as the preferred choice to guide Bari back to higher divisions after a recent relegation.
Club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has announced his intention to sell Bari to a serious investor by 2028. In parallel, the city of Bari has formalised a Committee of Guarantee and Transparency, composed of eleven independent figures, to oversee the club’s operations, address the issue of multi‑ownership, and ensure transparent dialogue with supporters. The committee will act autonomously from the municipal government, the SSC Bari company, and the current owners. Additionally, the new FIGC president Giovanni Malagò was elected, a development linked to broader reforms in Italian football.
