Bari hosts cycling event, social education project, and legal proceedings

Several local developments are taking place in Bari, Italy. The tenth edition of ‘Bari Pedala’ is being presented, an event organized by the Zerobarriere cooperative, the Terreno association, and the Franco Ballerini cycling school. Scheduled for October 17, the initiative promotes sustainable mobility and urban sharing through a cycling parade and a village at Parco Don Tonino Bello.

In the social sector, the Puglia Region is launching ‘Scuola d’Amore’ (School of Love), an affective and emotional education project. Developed in collaboration with local universities, the program aims to prevent gender violence, discrimination, and various forms of intolerance through workshops, art, and theater.

Regarding public safety, the Municipality of Bari has been recognized as an injured party in a legal proceeding concerning a 2022 waste bin fire in the San Paolo district. An individual faces trial for allegedly causing the fire by throwing a firecracker from a vehicle, an act that caused significant damage and posed risks to nearby residences.
